Carter John Ankeny, 6 years old, of Fountain Valley, California passed away on October 8th, 2017 due to complications related to treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was a ball of light who lived life with passion, tenacity, and immense love. Even after he was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of four years, he continued to live life to its fullest enjoying sports, Legos, dancing, music, school, playing with friends and family, and so much more. From infancy Carter was a regular in the southern California ska music scene. You would often find him up front copying moves from the bands, singing, dancing, and giving high fives to everyone around. His contagious smile and spirit won the hearts of many and his attitude about life and ability to thrive in the face of cancer inspired all. When he passed suddenly, it sent shock waves to all who knew him, loved him, and cared for him. Carter was a fighter, a leukemia warrior, who faced every battle and challenge head on and usually with a smile. He fought to the end and showed us what it truly meant to be #Carterstrong. We encourage you all to carry on his legacy of strength, kindness, and love by being #CarterStrongForever.
