Jaxson Douglas Moles, at age 2 ½, left his Earthly home. Jax was always a happy child loved by his family and God. He loved his puppies, Cars movies, stickers, and playing with anyone who visited him. He didn’t have a normal childhood of playing in his backyard or going on vacations, but often his playmates were nurses and therapists who came to check on him. No matter what though, he never went without a smile and displayed true joy and love.
He was dubbed our “Turtle”. At birth, he was born with a kyphosis on his lower back which, when held, made him look like he had a turtle shell. Little did we know this was the first sign of his rare-disorder diagnosis of “Mucopolysaccharidosis” type 1 (MPS-1) or Hurlers Syndrome.
This diagnosis along with thousands more are being assigned to children across the globe who are asked to “climb mountains” in order to find a treatment, cure, some relief, or add a few extra years to their lives. Many children are still fighting; climbing against the odds. We hope that you remember our “Turtle”. The next time you see a turtle, we hope you’ll remember all of those children who are still fighting; climbing those mountains.
Proceeds, after costs, from our limited-edition “Jax” line will go to caregivers/siblings of children who are battling rare diagnoses.
